The projects of our Neighborhood Action Teams (NAT’s) continue to improve the safety and beauty of Maxwell Park and provide tangible examples to Neighborhood Councils across the City. Our relationship with the Oakland Police Department and City Staff continues to grow and deepen, resulting in a more effective partnership between the MPNC, Oakland Police Department, and City resources . This is the essence of Community policing as established by City Council Resolution No. 79235:

The Maxwell Park Neighborhood Council was established on June 3rd, 1998. We have worked since then to create a socially cohesive community in our neighborhood by promoting trust, respect and understanding. I invite all of you to look at the Neighborhood Action Teams projects and consider joining one of them to have a say in improving your community. Better yet, why not propose another project that you think needs to be addressed?
